OBITUARY
Miss
Euphemia Flack died at the residence of her brothers Wilson
and Joseph
Flack, near Carversville, on Tuesday Evening, August 13th.
The cause of her death was general debility resulting from her advanced age
of nearly eighty-eight years.
She was the daughter of the late David
Flack and Sarah
(DeCoursey) Flack.
"Aunt Effie," as she was familiarly called, was probably the last wool spinner
in the vicinity of Carversville and many young folks had watched with interest
her skillful handling of the big wheel and the long curls of wool that changed
rapidly into gray yarn and wound upon the big spool. She had lived in the community
over fifty years and was well and favorably known.
The funeral services were held on Saturday and the burial was at Neshaminy
burying ground, where four generations of her ancestors are buried.
Her bearers were six nephews: Stephen
Flack, Arthur
Flack, Howard
Flack, John
Flack, Alonzo
Walton and William DeCoursey.
