Jim Flack - 6 Apr 2009
BIOGRAPHY: "Thomas Flack, a young man, secured a grant from Earl Granville for 481 acres on Walnut Branch, two miles north of the church in 1761. He married Jean [*JANE*], daughter of James McQuiston. In 1773 he sold this place to John Chambers, and located near Haw River Presbyterian Church and joined there."

Jim Flack - 27 Feb 2009
BIOGRAPHY: The Flacks were Presbyterians and a member of the Nottingham Colony in Pennsylvania. Thomas was a trustee of the church. He was a Captain in the Revolutionary War. We have a copy of his military service against the Cherokee Indians.Several in that family have become members of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) with documents we have on the Flack line. - Source: Thelma Carrell Jones
BIRTH: Two other sources give PA, USA as the place of birth, but Mike Flack (in an email) tells me its County Derry, Northern Ireland. I'm going with this info at the moment as it makes most sense. His wife is Irish (as are at least 3 of her bro's and sisters). I suspect we are more likely to find Thomas's parents being born that side of the water too.
