The best way to search for a specific named person, is of course, to use the general search facility for the main website database. But to try and provide a quick access point, here is short list of the main Flack families that have their American starting point in Pennsylvania.

The remaining eight children (7 sons and 1 daughter) , James, Joseph, Sarah, Robert, William, Samuel, John and Benjamin went on provide a wealth of offspring, some moving to Maryland and Kentucky among other locations.

This is one of the best 'sourced' American Flack family trees in the website database.

Samuel Flack & Jane Johnston in Centre County, Pennsylvania. ............. Tree 609J - (90+ people)

John A Flack & Jane Gault in Washington County, Pennsylvania. .............. Tree 610J - (1400 people)

John Flack, born abt 1758, was among the early pioneers of Washington County, Pennsylvania. He came from Lancaster County, to Washington County, where, in 1784, he purchased a town lot, being one of the first lot owners in the town. In 1788 he removed to Buffalo township, and here he purchased a farm on which he erected the first frame house in that section of the county. He married Jane Gault, a native of Canonsburg, Washington county, and to them were born children as follows: James, John, Samuel, David, and Mary.

Sons James and Samuel removed in their early manhood to Ohio, but while James stayed and died in Ohio, Samuel returned to Buffalo, Washington in 1827 and spent the rest of his life there. John stayed in Washington County all his life, while son David eventually went to Virginia.

Robert Flack and Mary Douglass in Washington County, Pennsylvania. ............... Tree 655J - (319+ people) -

In about 1800, Robert Flack, born abt 1763, sailed from County Monaghan, Ireland, and on arriving in America first located in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
He then moved to Westmoreland County (same State) but in 1820 made a permanent location on the forks of Chartiers Creek, Peters Township, Washington County.
He was married in County Monaghan, Ireland, to Miss Mary Douglass, who bore him the following children: James, Alexander, Mary, John, Nancy, Robert, Jane, Margaret, Eliza and Sarah.
Robert died in Washington County in 1847.

James 'The Prisoner' Flack & Ann Nelson/Neilson - in Ligonier, Westmoreland County, PA ......... Tree 602J (1600 people)

James Flack (b.1753 County Antrim, Ireland). I call him "James the Prisoner" as an easy identifier for myself really - but in June 1780 he was was captured while 'in service' and defending 'Ruddell's Station' in Kentucky, taken prisoner and eventually finished up in Montreal. He eventually escaped and made his way home back to Ligonier Valley. Hence my nickname - James "The Prisoner'

John Noble Flack and Martha Jane Ramsey - pos Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. ........... Tree 615J - (3000+ people)

John Noble Flack, born abt.1770, (possibly Westmoreland County) Pennsylvania and died in Richland County, Ohio, in 1864.
My records show that he (and wife Martha Jane Ramsey) had 13 children all born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

Could John be related to either Samuel Flack (Tree733J) or Robert Flack (Tree655J)??

Samuel Flack & (i) Betsy Smith, (ii) Euphemia Imbrie - Beaver or Westmoreland County, PA .... Tree 733J - (950+ people) -

Samuel Flack, born abt 1765 (some say Ireland, other say Pennsylvania). Most documents I have read seem to agree that he moved to Holmes County, Ohio in about 1812 from either Beaver County or Westmoreland County, PA.
Beaver County itself was created on March 12, 1800, from parts of Allegheny and Washington Counties - so when you look at all the other Flack families above, its quite possible he was associated with one of the other Washington County Flack Families.

John Flack - 'OF' Rostraver, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. ................... Tree 'PA_Strays' - (30-40 people)

John Flack (b. bef 1774) is shown in the early 1790 census living in Rostraver. For some reason the 1800 Rostraver Census is missing in 'Ancestry.com' (There's a hole in the road and they are looking into it'). John disappears but SAMUEL appears in Rostraver in 1810, so I am assuming its his son.

I cant yet find which main family John Flack links into. If YOU have any clues please let me know !!
